Nano-sized particles within the liquid allow it to penetrate the tiniest cracks and bond with the material, creating a durable coating that protects it from water damage. This is the latest technology when it comes to waterproofing fabrics, making the surface extremely water-repellent. In fact, it is described as hydrophobic, meaning that it actively repels moisture from the surface as water is unable to stick to it.
Oil and grease deposits can be a nightmare for soft-top owners. Our ingenious waterproofing liquid displaces and disperses oil, leaving the surface free from greasy stains that attract dirt and grime, and that will eventually damage the fabric.
The water-based composition ensures that the liquid is safe for use, with zero solvents, fluorosurfactants or silicones. This water-repellent spray dries to an odourless and colourless finish that won't present a health risk to humans, animals, or the environment.
High-quality waterproofing liquids prevent moisture from being absorbed into the fabrics, resulting in water-beading on the surface. This happens when rain can't soak through the material, so the molecules stick together before flowing away as the droplets become heavier or are dislodged by motion.

It's a very straightforward and hassle-free process!
The first thing to do is make sure that the soft-top is clean before applying the waterproofing liquid.
Sweep the surface to remove loose dirt and grit (soft or medium-firm brushes are best), then clean it with one of our excellent soft-top cleaners. These are also exceptionally good quality, rivalling some of the best names in the business, like Protex canvas cleaner - be sure to check out our website for details.
Once clean, you can apply a colour-restoring dye if the canvas or fabric is looking worse for wear. Again, you can find details of these on our website.
When this is fully dry, apply the waterproofing liquid using the trigger spray (supplied) or a wide, flat brush.
Allow the canvas/fabric to dry for about 24 hours before using the item - you can speed up the drying process with a hairdryer or hot-air gun (if using the latter, take great care not to burn or scorch the surface!).
Our excellent waterproofing spray is available in three sizes: 500ml, 1 litre or 5 litres. As a rough guide, a 500ml bottle would be adequate for covering a soft-top on a two-seater car.
